Archaeological excavations in Quinta do Ervedal, Castelo Novo, Fundão.
The territory where today is located the Fundão region was part of the Roman province of Lusitania during the Roman Empire. Therefore there is, throughout the county, many traces of the old and great empire. Students at our school participate every summer in archaeological excavations organized by the Archaeological Museum of Fundão. The best known are the ruins of Quinta do Ervedal, near Castelo Novo.
